Safety Induction Checklist
Below is the Safety Induction Checklist for Stanthorpe Pottery Club as at 01.03.2025
Copies of the form are available at the Club and is to be completed by all new members.

Location of Register
Opening and Closing Studio/Gallery
Location of door locks, light switches, security system, turn off water.
Kilns
Kilns are NOT to be touched whilst in operation.
All matters relating to the KILNS or the use of the
KILNS must be referred to the Kiln Coordinator in the first instance.
Electrical Safety
All equipment is to be turned off and unplugged when not in use.
Use only equipment that bears a current inspection tag.
Tools
All tools used are to be cleaned and returned to their appropriate area.
Storage racks
Pottery work to be placed on correct shelves for work in progress, and for firing.
Cleanup
All work areas wet wiped. Immediate floor area around workspace to be wet mopped. NO SWEEPING UNDER ANY CIRMCUMSTANCES
Food safety
Do not eat or drink at the table when working with clay or glazes.
Any table used for eating must be thoroughly cleaned down with wet wipes
Children
Any child under the age of 18 years must be supervised at all times and is not allowed to use or mix glazes.
Emergencies
Show location of:
Fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit, Evacuation area
Emergency contacts: Triple O for any serious situations, contact committee member.
Pottery
Under no circumstances, are other members pottery items to be touched/moved.
No sanding of pots indoors. Please supply and use own mask when appropriate.
